It was a story about a dog, named DetectiveDog who loves doughnuts!
It was her birthday, so Detective Dog was going to have two doughnuts at Dave'sDinner, but when he went to get them...they were missing...they disappeared!
Detective Dog decided to do some detecting (which means look for) to find the doughnuts. She noticed there was doughnut dust (powdered sugar) near the door of Dave's Dinner, and she decided to follow it to see if it would lead to the thief. She followed the doughnut dust downtown, past Drake's Drugstore and the department store. She followed it all the way to Debbie's Deli to catch the "doughnut-napper".
When she walked inside Debbie's Deli it was completely dark...when she turned on the lights, she heard "SURPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY" and saw all her friends there to celebrate! Detective Dog responded with "Hot diggitydog! It's a birthday party!"
Dave (from Dave's Dinner) told Detective Dog that they pretended thedoughnuts disappeared and made a trail of doughnut dust to lead thedetective to the party.
In the end, Detective dog was delighted (which means happy) with the party, dazzling decorations and dandy gifts. Detective Dog celebrated by eating dozens and dozens of delicious doughnuts!
