We wanted to tell friends about the things we did this summer! We illustrated them and proudly shared them! We are super excited to make a class book of our summer events and activities. Children even asked to "check out" our class book to bring home to share and read with parents!
We read "The Kissing Hand" and discussed the scared or nervous feelings we may feel on the first day of school.
The Kissing Hand Poem
Here’s a special trick I know
When I’m sad and scared to go.
Take my hand and kiss it here,
This kiss from you, I will hold dear.
Down my hand and up my arm,
Into my heart the kiss goes on.
We also received a present from parents! We used watercolor paint to uncover hidden messages of love (that parents wrote in white crayon). We were very excited to read our messages!!
Last, but certainly not least, we created "place mats" as we used markers, crayons, stamps, dot markers, stickers, and tissue paper to decorate. Our "place mats" will be used during snack or at circle time to help us in identifying our area, as well as our name. We were so very proud of the work we did that we decided to enter them into the Bethlehem fair! Be sure to stop by the Juniors Exhibit to see our wonderful works of art!
