Today, we read "Gorilla, Be Good!" by Maria Fleming. The story was about a gorilla who was not a good guest. He broke Granny's glasses, gabbed on the phone all day, trampled the grapes in the garden, gobbled up gooseberry pie, a gallon of ice cream and other goodies. He also dressed like a ghost to scare the goldfish and glued gumdrops to Dad's galoshes (rain boots). In the end, Gorilla had to leave because he was not a good guest - he just made a great big mess!
After reading, we circled many "G" pictures found in the story by using our document camera and smartboard.
At centers, we made the letter "G".
