We read "The Pigs Picnic" by Helen H. Moore, and found all the p-words/pictures in the story, such as peaches, pickles, picture, pineapple, peanut butter, potato chips, popcorn, picnic basket, pizza...and more!
We matched uppercase letters on a pizza!
(Some friends were challenged to match uppercase and lowercase letters).
We played in our Pizza Place where we ordered, prepared, or cooked pizza! We chose small, medium, or large pizzas. We used our fine motor muscles as we flattened our "cheese" on to our crust, and pushed our "toppings" into the cheese. We took orders and used inventive spelling. We took turns, shared, and collaborated!
We sorted puzzle pieces by color. Some friends rolled a dice, identified the number, and counted out that many puzzle pieces.
We searched for and dotted "P's".
Throughout the week, we also worked on coloring and adding detail to our "My Book of Pp Words" and/or our "Pp is for pig" page.
