We read AlphaTales' "Rosie Rabbit's Radish" by Wendy Cheyette Lewison. With this, we identified all the pictures/words that started with "Rr"
using the document camera on the smartboard.
We worked in our "My Rr Book" as we continue to build on our early literacy and emergent reading skills.
To make the letter "R" at home, follow these directions:
big line down, back up to the top, little curve, little line.
Accordingly, we discussed the importance of taking care of the 'Earth' and our 'environment'. We watched BrainPOP Jr.'s "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle". We also completed Starfall.com's "Everyday is Earth Day". With this, we discussed the importance of 'recycling'. We practiced sorting objects as paper, plastic, or glass. We enjoyed working together in our classes Recycling Center! We also enjoyed cleaning up our 'Earth' in our sand table as we collected garbage and recycled it accordingly. Moreover, we illustrated and dictated our very own Earth Day Pledge! For example, some friends said, "I can help our Earth by picking up trash...turning off the lights when I leave the room...turning off the water if I'm not using it". Some friends found that they can help the Earth by planting. We planted a sunflower seed! We plan to watch, observe, and discuss what happens! Lastly, we used toilet paper rolls to create beautiful flower crafts! With this, we 'reused' something to create something else, as we strengthened fine motor skills while expanding our creativity!
in order to complete this week's activities!
