The planned activities allowed us the opportunity to practice cooperative behavior, turn taking, and social skills. We also practiced counting, while strengthening motor skills through tossing, balancing, and/or bouncing…WHILE HAVING HOLIDAY FUN!
"Jingle Bell Rock" - We worked our gross motor muscles as we counted how many jingle bells we could dance out of the box!
"Wrap Race" - We tried to see how quickly we could make a "snowman" (wrap a friend in toilet paper, and dress him/her up with a hat and scarf)! At some points, we decided it'd be more fun to work as a team, to wrap and dress up an adult volunteer!
"Snowball Bounce" - We worked our gross motor muscles as we tried to see how long we could keep the "snowball" (balloon) off the ground! We even counted how many times we could bounce it up into the air, consecutively.
Lastly, we used our fine motor muscles to decorate Christmas trees! We added our pictures at the top of the trees, as the star(s)!
