This week we discussed 'family' and the different types of people that can make up a family. We read "Does a Kangaroo Have A Mother, Too?" by Eric Carle, and watched "The Family Book" by Todd Parr.
In the dramatic play center, we played 'house' as we took turns taking on various roles in a family.
At the smart board, we worked together to create different houses using various shapes and/or objects that we know. You can play the game, "Make A House", at home by clicking on the link below.
We shared pictures and/or stories of our families, as we discussed the different people that can make up a family. We then created "Family Glyphs" to identify the different people that make up each of our families. Of most importance, we learned that all families are different and that's okay, because that is what makes us (and our family) so very special!
